表达意象清晰明了，声音和空间成为最重要的强化精神世界塑造的工具，但故事简单，对“得不到的爱”的主题难以形成共鸣。女主角以为上帝才是自己的挚爱，要取消和表哥的婚约，表哥誓死不从，医生、神父、姑妈、仆人都来帮助女主角回到现实，最后她却莫名其妙奄奄一息，准备去见耶稣。这就是得不到的爱。
