"Why is the man waking up disturbed? Why is it still so dark? Does he have reason to sleep badly? Why is his room so sparsely furnished? Why is he sitting so indecisively at his desk? Who does he want to call? Why isn't he on the phone? Is he in a crisis? Because of what? Because of a woman? Which one? What mail does he expect to find in his locker? Does he read the newspapers with interest? Does he want to kill time? Where does he call and why doesn't anyone answer? Why does he go to the movies in the afternoon? Why is someone calling for independence for East Timor? Where is that? Why does he ask the woman who speaks to him if she knows him? Why does he tell her that he doesn't have time for a coffee? Why does he then walk on as one who has been hit, almost staggering and unsure? Why is he watching the movie "Detectives"? Is the man a film critic? (...) A lot of questions for a movie that only lasts 10 minutes and 29 seconds. But it even contains some answers." (Karlheinz Oplustil, in: Kinemathek 66, 10/83)
"This is a beautiful, concise film about the loneliness of a man with a post office box in Berlin, in which it becomes clear quite straightforwardly how much men are trapped in the pathos of such loneliness." (Doris Kuhn: Die Stärke der Frauen, in: Formen der Liebe. Die Filme von Rudolf Thome, Marburg 2010)

“这是一部美丽而简洁的短片作品,讲述了一个在柏林拥有邮局票房的男人的孤独,在这部电影中,人们很清楚地看到了有多少男人被困在这种孤独的悲情中。”4.6
