有点布努埃尔的风格但并没有后者的讽刺 故事在家庭伦理与年轻化的浪漫爱情之间徘徊。里面有一些画面还是蛮惊人的 尺度很大，而且整个片子看上去流行元素很多，完全看不出是社会主义国家的。四次爆破轰然倒下的大楼和男女主对婚姻与爱情的看法变迁的关键节点形成呼应，标记了电影的四次情感转折。

Die Legende von Paul und Paula was unusual not just for breaking what had previously been taboos, but also for the way that it broke them. Shor in vivid color (unlike most previous DEFA movies, ...), it radiated optimism and lightheartedness, even when it addressed difficult or depressing subjects like adultery and death. ...was partly based on the real story...
