结构缜密，逻辑清楚，时常插科打诨，节奏紧凑，场景变换复杂，男女主人公之间的感情发展也吸引人眼球，是典型的希区柯克“错误的人”模式，但是比希胖巅峰时期的西北偏北和迷魂记尚缺公里，结尾“记忆先生”的环节实在过于潦草，影片情节中的巧合过于惊人，可见早期的希区柯克还有不成熟的地方。
