Who's more pathetic?
It's a really funny story and definitely worths watching. The plot is really intense and kinda chaotic in that Brooklyn family.
The old mentally disabled brother Teddy is absolutely adorable. He lives in his own created world as President Roosevelt and does everything following the manner and style of the president of the United States. As you can observe, he is easily cajoled by the "sensible" people. However, in his own world, he solves every problem in a easy manner and does not really carry loads of human trouble crap in his easy mind. You can burst into laughters when Teddy rushed to his room shouting "charge", but at last, just like Mortimer later questioned, are we happier than people like Teddy?
After watching the movie, I can't help wondering whether those seemingly wonderful old ladies are doing a good deed by giving the so-called peace to those lonely old people. They are so sympathetic to the old people's loneliness, and they personally served as good judge, and put the pains to an end. Don't just treat the question as ridiculously crazy ideas, in some way, it has its merits. Is it worth living when you are old, lonely, empty, and miserable?
