A Journey through "Never Have I Ever"
Mixed emotions, myriad sentiments! 1. Paxton is so hot, OMG! Can't forget the heart-fluttering window climb and that radiant face during the car crash confession to Devi. When he said, "You must love yourself for me to be with you" and the breakup scene – he's always there. So glad he found his kind and intelligent self. Even happier seeing him shed the crown, letting time move forward. Learn from him. 2. Like Devi during application season – I do relate!! Constantly presenting ourselves to various institutions, universities, and companies, telling them who we are, proving we're qualified. Feels like we're standing hand in hand at the crossroads of fate. By the way, I think the U.S. education system is excellent. High school should be where identity and career exploration begin. Chinese universities seem like a delayed version of U.S. high schools, a bit outdated. Maybe that's why Chinese people are keen on pursuing master's degrees. 3. A friend mentioned the institutionalization in "The Shawshank Redemption" the other day. I've discussed being in the "box" with ChatGPT. OMG, I'm as pathetic as Fab, just kidding. LOL I love Fab. The saddest thing is hating the "box," but unable to find stability outside it. Times have changed, life is market-driven, and Chinese lives are no exception. 4. Devi's trauma is her dad. Audience traumas vary, but the show teaches us that the attitude and approach towards trauma can be universal. "What you're doing isn't madness; you're just hurt." I've truly cried multiple times due empathy. Thank you, "Never Have I Ever." I appreciate the advanced awareness and practice regarding mental health.
