1.Individuals who intended only to pursue their own interests were led by an invisible hand to promote the public welfare which was no part of their intention. In the political sphere, people who intend only to serve the public interest are led by an invisible hand to serve private interest that was no part of their intention to promote. The concentration of power in the hands of a few people, however well-intentioned, is a real threat to the freedom of individual.

2.Government intervention fails also because: nobody spends somebody else's money as carefully as he spends his own; nobody has the same dedication to achieving somebody else's objectives that he displays when he pursues his own.

3.Thus the government should be limited to its basic functions(national defense, dispute resolution). Voluntary cooperation through the market is a far better way to solve our problem than turning them over to the government.
