Throughout this process, infringement of human rights by the government, unscrupulous intellectuals who praise these government policies, journalists who are chasing after sensational stories rather than investigating the truth, judicial departments trying to cover up for the Defense Department by handing out rulings that contradict each other, and the US army troops stationed in Korea quietly trying to cover up the mess although they know the details of the incidents, are all shown in the film. - from SIFF

兵役制的确给韩国带来太多东西，正面负面，包括韩男普遍的大男子主义、在lgbt上的保守。99年兵役制补偿政策取消，男性觉得自己付出青春又得不到补偿，进而压迫女性，又导致了猛烈的性别对立。 在想，韩国人天生的悲情基因可能也要归咎于这被强制垄断掉的两年。和朋友家人分别离散，两年时间可以改变太多。

以JSA中尉金勳死亡案為例聚焦韓國軍隊中的死亡事件。拍攝手法近似《兩扇門》，死者家屬至少還有機會出席死因調查聽證會並發表意見，雖然經3輪調查最後還是認定為自殺。

这样的事情不断在全世界发生着，部分人努力的争取一个真相，部分人把这个故事拍成了纪录片，大多数时候影片引导出一个大家希望得到的真相，不管真相如否就是如此，真相确实掌握在少数拥有权力的人手里是一个不争的事实，我们无法获得，长此以往，虚无主义，无政府主义就在身边蔓延，如果我们更为激进，推翻他们，我们是否也会无可救药的成为他们。

JSA共同警备区麻烦多，不敢惹美国爸爸，又无法栽赃给敌国，政府调查组和家属律师间关于自杀和他杀之间不论如何争议和博弈，最后也只能不了了之，这就是美利益共同体卫星国逃不开的命运
