If the minority is somehow invisible, then the fear is much greater. That fear is why the minority is persecuted. So, you see there always is a cause. The cause is fear. Minorities are just people. People like us.

这里的“minority”的一种就是同性恋，男主其实是在借话题说自己的心声。那个年代同性恋不被承认也不被大众所熟悉，小众群体的存在让大众群体感觉到了威胁，所以人们会害怕与排斥他们。
