Written on the body, a pixelated pillow book of all flesh, this film questions adornment through rhythm and ritual, dream and suggestion, asking why? Sex, territory or cellular expression?
Body Projections examines the human body through body painting, sound and pixelation. Rhythm, ritual and suggestion replace measurements and learning in an attempt to understand why we are drawn to body enhancement.
In Body Projections, rhythm, ritual and suggestion replace measurements and learning in a dreamlike exploration of why, as a species, we have such a history of body decoration. Using projected animation on pixelated bodies, the film asks why humans paint their bodies. Is it a sexual or even territorial gesture or are the body’s cells shouting out in self-expression?
