As a matter of fact, Coco was the best movie which moved me most. There are several aspects.
First, I want to talk about the plot. Coco is started with the background that Miguel's great great-grandpa left home for his music dream. And Miguel, a 12-year-old boy, indulged in music, too. And through his dream trip in the world of undead, we would generally believe that the famous singer was his great great-grandpa. However, with Miguel finding that the singer is a careerist, the truth about Miguel's real great great-grandpa鈥檚 death is slowly panned. And through the whole process, Miguel understood that families were always the ones who love you best, and everyone should remember those people who love you or you love.
Second, go through the theme. I have seen many other kinds of movies before. And about these two points——dream and family, most of them chose to show that the protagonist got rid of the shackles of the family, pursuing their great dream, and finally he/she succeeded.
However, Coco broke this rule. Its theme——love and memory——showed the phenomenon above by the view of the family to represent what your family would be after you left home chasing your dream. And this, indeed, made me consider my original opinion that dreams always bigger than the family. Together, there was an interesting setting that ghosts would leave both of the worlds forever if nobody in the real world remembered them. And this setting revealed another viewpoint: death would not be terrible, if the one we love still lived in our hearts.
Then, let's look at its tableau. Coco showed us a refined animation world, combining with a strong Mexico style. Especially the world of undead completely lighted my eyes, by the bright color, esthetic scene, as well as so many other creations. And what impressed me most is the leaf bridge, which made of marigolds help the ghosts come back home at the Day of the Dead. I must praise that its tableau is beautiful and artistic.
Finally, what I want to say is the music. I think music this a part foreign animation made a big difference of our Chinese films. Generally, music in our movies is just the function of setting the mood. Sometimes, we even can't remember the title song of a film. Who can say that it's not a sorrow?
Back to Coco, music was the characteristic in this animation. Eliminating the factor that theme was connected with music, the song "emember me" ran through the whole play, made me deeply impressed. Besides, other songs sung by different characters, in different occasion also pushed me more integrated into the film. Every song here was unique and gentle.
In short, Coco is few of the animations which made me satisfied in all aspects. Still, I want to quote a sentence the director once said:
Death is a part of life. People always ignore its existence or cannot believe it. But one thing is clear, that is, we all have to face and experience it. I am very proud of never hiding such a cruel but powerful reality.
