Moon river, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style some day. Oh, dream maker, my heart believer, wherever you're going, I'm going your way. The song sang at the beginning of the movie while the girl eating her bread and drinking coffee, standing outside of Tiffany's store, the place that can calm her down whatever happens. She is passionate for the jewelry in it. It's her dream to become rich as she suffered a lot during her poor childhood. No one can blame her. Sometimes the society makes who you are, what you are thinking. During that time, just after the war and everyone was struggling for the upper life, drinking wine, dancing and talking about leading luxury life. We are following the moon river which is far and hard to get close to. However, the movie told us what we can still find love even under such circumstance. We are too simple comparing the society. What we should do is to be brave enough to admit the fact that each of us is one of the common people. Like what Fred said to the girl at the end of the movie, you, chicken, you think you are wild and free in mind but actually you are coward who are afraid to admit that it is the fact. How many of us is like the girl in the movie? We think we don't want to stay in the cage and we are always pursuing the moon river forgetting to feel the love accompanied with us all the time. Slow down and spare time for knowing the true us, true me.
