The crazy anxiety of kids' education appears not only in China but also in India!
A bussiness couple who don't get much education because of their poor family don't want their little girl follow their disastrous road, so they extremely wants to send her to the topest school in the city.
They try whatever they can to meet the harsh standards, including buying a house near school, just like the anxious Chinese parents. In China, that's Xue Qu Fang.Of course it is expensive, but only if it is helpful for the kid to enter the famous, it's quite worthwhile.
They try hard to be accepted by their upper-class neighbors , but their terrible English, low taste of clothes-wearing all the logos of brands-makes it impossible for them to be welcomed. As a result, they fail. Some people tell them it's not because of their Pia but themselves determines Pia's failure. Their identity as businessmen running a clothes multiple shops sends a message to school that they only care the money not the education.
Those totally strange rules are just like that in Shanghai months ago.
A top private school requires not only the kid's parents but even also their grandparents! Besides they don't consider the kids with fat parents because that shows that they can't control themselves.
When they almost give up, they hear there are some numbers prepare for the poor kids, so they do a quite ridiculous thing-go to the slum to pretend to be the poor. They temporally abandon their big house, luxury car and beautiful clothes to let the investigator believe that they are truly in a terrible position. They meet a nice family in the slum whose kid is also applying for the permission. That means they might cheat that boy's chance.
Finally they do get the chance but they give it up. For experiencing all these ridiculous things they finally knows the true meaning of education equal, respect and sympathy
Anyway the movie is beautiful but reality is much more cruel .
IF YOU ARE THE FATHER IN REAL LIFE, WOULD YOU BE SURE TO SEND YOUR DAUGHTER TO PUBLIC SCHOOL?
That's the question worth thinking carefully.
